From Mormon to Kriya Yogi - The Kriya Yoga Podcast Episode 3
Monday Oct 14, 2019
Monday Oct 14, 2019
In this episode, Phil McLemore and I discuss his journey from Mormonism to the Kriya Yoga path. His evolution from organized religion to the mystical experiences of Kriya Yoga is an interesting story. In this interview we discuss many salient points on what it means to move from a novice to experienced meditator. We also discuss the value of considering the teachings of Jesus as a mystical (maybe even yogic) way to enlightenment.
Our Guest: Philip McLemore worked as a Campus Minister for 8 years at Auburn University, AL, and the University of Georgia. He then served as an active duty Air Force Chaplain for 21 years, followed by 8 years as a Hospice Chaplain. Philip turned to yoga meditation to help with a health crisis and awakened to an expansive spiritual life previously un-imagined. He has been teaching meditation for 20 years and has developed a system for teaching yoga meditation to Mormons and Christians. He was taught Kriya Yoga by Roy Eugene Davis, a direct student of Paramahansa Yogananda. In 2008 Mr. Davis ordained and authorized Phil to teach Kriya Yoga meditation and philosophy.

Tuesday Aug 27, 2019
Tuesday Aug 27, 2019
Just before dawn on August 14th, 2000 I met my spiritual teacher, Roy Eugene Davis, a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda. It was the Monday morning meditation session at the beginning of a weeklong retreat at the Center for Spiritual Awareness in Lakemont, GA.
