Just before dawn on August 14^th, 2000 I met my spiritual teacher, Roy Eugene Davis, a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda. It was the Monday morning meditation session at the beginning of a weeklong retreat at the Center for Spiritual Awareness in Lakemont, GA. The meditation hall was dark, barely lit by a streetlight shining through the Eastern facing glass doors.
